Sharon asks…Do they still build houses without basements nowadays?This is kind of a shocker to me. I was browsing real estate listings in Lafayette, Louisiana, and ran across a house that's only 2 years old, but doesn't have a basement. I didn't know they still built them without basements. Who would want such a house?frensceno wilson answers:Yep, especially in that area. With hurricanes and flooding and a high water table, basements and much of the deep south just don't work.William
